2015 is the year when thorough preparations should start regarding the future of relations between the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of countries and the European Union (EU) post-2020. A lot of thinking on this subject has already taken place, but more in think tanks than in the relevant administrations and political fora. The ACP seems at this stage further advanced in their preparatory work than the European side. The EU seems to have waited for the new political actors (new European parliamentarians, new High Representative/VP, new Development Commissioner etc.) to be in place to organise some systematic reflection on this issue.
